Rooted in Nature: A Simple Life That Honors God’s Creation

Nature

Trust me when I say I love to sleep in, but there’s also something about stepping outside early in the morning—before the world fully wakes up—that reminds me of how deeply connected we are to God’s creation. The breeze, the birds, the sunlight peeking through the trees… it feels like a sacred whisper. A reminder that we were made for this rhythm. Not rush. Not noise. But peace.

I’ve always loved nature. Even as a child, I’d wander outside just to be near the trees or lay in the grass and watch the clouds. I'd sit under a tree with my pony or a book, and wake early before school to watch the farm chores be done. There’s a stillness in the natural world that speaks to something deep in my soul. It’s where I feel closest to God—where I remember His presence not just in the big, miraculous moments, but in the everyday beauty of the world He designed.

That love for nature has shaped a lot of how I live now. As much as I would love to say that I harvest my own food, raise a brood of animals, or only use a clothesline to dry my clothes...this simply isn't the case. My thumb isn't green, and though I will never be a city girl, I'll never be a rancher either. A few acres is plenty for me.

At the same time, I crave simplicity—not just less stuff, but a slower, more intentional way of being. I’ve learned to ask: Does this bring peace into my home? Does this help or harm the world around me? Is this honoring what God has given?

And honestly, the answers started changing the way I cleaned, shopped, and made decisions as a wife, mom, and homemaker. I began to see that the products I used, the waste I created, and even the things I brought into our house—all had a ripple effect. Not just on my health and my family, but on the earth God entrusted us to care for.

That’s one of the many reasons I love what I do with Norwex. Not because I enjoy continuously pressing that repeat button, but because I have a genuine passion for what I do.

Their mission of reducing chemicals and waste aligns so beautifully with my own values. With every reusable cloth, every plastic-free swap, and every natural cleaner, I feel like I’m making small choices that add up—choices that reflect my belief in being a good steward of what God has placed in our hands.

To me, caring for His creation isn’t just about hugging trees (though I’d do that too, and have on occasions!). It’s about protecting what He made—keeping our homes safe, our water clean, our air pure. It’s about leaving things better than we found them, out of love and reverence for the One who spoke it all into existence.

And you don’t have to change everything overnight. You start with one small shift—maybe choosing a product that’s reusable instead of disposable, or cleaning with fewer chemicals. Little by little, it becomes a lifestyle. One that feels lighter, freer, and more in tune with the kind of life God calls us to live.

So here’s to simplicity. To breathing deep. To walking gently. To honoring the beauty that surrounds us every single day in any way we can.

Let’s do our part, not because we have to—but because we get to. Because it’s a privilege to care for His creation. And because peace lives in the places where we choose to live simply and love deeply.

With care 🌿,

XO, Marie

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Every time I sit down to write a blog post, I picture someone—maybe it’s you—curled up with a blanket and a warm drink, scrolling with hope that something here will speak to your heart, your home, or even just your to-do list.

Honestly, it’s kind of humbling (and amazing!) to think that my little words might make a difference—whether it’s helping you figure out what to cook tonight, giving you a peaceful project for a rainy day, or offering a moment of encouragement when life feels a bit too loud.

I pour my heart into each post hoping it feels like a breath of fresh air. A cozy corner of the internet where you feel understood, uplifted, and maybe even inspired to create something new or just be.

Because really, we’re all just trying to find beauty, calm, and connection in this busy world—and I hope this space helps you do exactly that.

Let the posts
come to you.
