Snuggles & Stitches: A Sweet New Baby Knit Project to Try!

Updated: Jul 24

Snugglebud Beanie

There’s something about knitting for a baby that just wraps the heart up in all kinds of cozy feelings, don’t you think? Whether it’s for a little one on the way, a gift for a dear friend, or just something soft and sweet to tuck away “just in case,” baby knits are like a gentle hug we can give with our hands.

Lately, I’ve been craving simplicity in my stitches—something that doesn’t require counting every row but still feels rewarding and beautiful. So I curled up with a cup of chamomile tea, the sound of a soft rain tapping outside, and started dreaming up something gentle… and that’s how this sweet little knit project was born.

🎁 Introducing: The Snugglebud Baby Beanie 🎁A tiny, stretchy, ribbed hat that knits up quickly and fits snug like a hug—this project is beginner-friendly, soothing to knit, and irresistibly adorable on any wee one.

🧶 Snugglebud Baby Beanie – Free Pattern

Pattern Instructions:

CO 64 sts. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker.

Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 5.5 inches (or longer for a fold-over brim).

Begin Crown Decrease:Switch to DPNs when needed.

Round 1: K2tog, P2tog around – 32 sts

Round 2: K1, P1 rib around

Round 3: K2tog around – 16 sts

Round 4: Knit all

Round 5: K2tog around – 8 sts

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through remaining stitches and cinch tight. Weave in ends.

Optional: Top it off with a fluffy pom-pom or a little wooden button for an heirloom touch.

I love how this little hat stretches to fit snugly, but gently. It’s like wrapping your love around someone’s tiniest chapter. And best of all? It knits up in one cozy evening.

If you try this, I’d be so tickled to see it—feel free to tag me or email a photo! There’s nothing sweeter than seeing your hands bring something warm into the world.

What are you all stitching up these days? I’d love to hear what’s on your needles.

Until next time, keep cozy and kind.

With woolly hugs,

~ Marie

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Every time I sit down to write a blog post, I picture someone—maybe it’s you—curled up with a blanket and a warm drink, scrolling with hope that something here will speak to your heart, your home, or even just your to-do list.

Honestly, it’s kind of humbling (and amazing!) to think that my little words might make a difference—whether it’s helping you figure out what to cook tonight, giving you a peaceful project for a rainy day, or offering a moment of encouragement when life feels a bit too loud.

I pour my heart into each post hoping it feels like a breath of fresh air. A cozy corner of the internet where you feel understood, uplifted, and maybe even inspired to create something new or just be.

Because really, we’re all just trying to find beauty, calm, and connection in this busy world—and I hope this space helps you do exactly that.

Let the posts
come to you.
