The Cozy Home Capsule: 10 Items I Use Every Single Day

Cozy Home

Because the best things are often the simplest

You know those things in your home that you just couldn’t live without? The things that earn their place day after day, while everything else kind of... rotates in and out of the background?

I’ve come to believe that a cozy, well-loved home isn’t about how much we own—it’s about the few things that truly serve us, spark joy, and make life a little smoother (and a lot more peaceful).

So today, I’m opening the door to my everyday life and sharing 10 items I use every single day in my home—and why they’ve become part of what I call my Cozy Home Capsule.

Let’s peek inside, shall we?

  1. Norwex Natural Cleaning Products

I’ve been using Norwex for over 15 years now—and some of my cloths are just as old! That mop set I bought way back when? Still going strong. The face and body cloths? Absolutely love them. And that tiny tub of cleaning paste I thought would run out in a month? I might have to include it in my will—it lasts that long.

What keeps me loyal after all these years is not just how well the products work, but the heart behind the company. They care deeply about making a difference—and it shows. I've tested cheaper microfiber options over the years, thinking I could save a few bucks… but nope. Nothing compares.

Now, as much as I love clean and simple, I do enjoy a little fresh scent in my home now and then—without the chemicals, of course. That’s where Essential oils come in. These little bottles of goodness are my go-to for natural, beautifully scented cleaning. No strange fumes. No harsh ingredients. Just simple, honest, effective products that make my home smell like fresh air and feel like peace.

And the best part? I can feel good knowing I’m creating a cleaner space for my family—without all the toxins.

2. Lemongrass Spa Beauty Products

Skincare is sacred in my morning and evening routines, and this brand is like sunshine in a jar. From clean, effective body butters, makeup, and even hair products—this is what nourishes my skin, my senses, and honestly, my spirit.(If you’ve ever had a shower that made you look forward to spending time in the water, you know what I mean.)

3. Candle Warmers (No Flame Required)

There’s something about that soft, glowing light and a gentle scent in the air that makes a house feel like home. I use candle warmers daily instead of always burning candles, or those chemical laden plug-in's—it’s safer, lasts longer, and still fills the space with cozy vibes.

You probably know I am an all around Norwex gal, but I do step outside of that box - only occasionally. This tool is life-changing if you have pets (or long hair!). This silicone wonder grabs it all off of my throw rugs. Every last strand. And it's easy to rinse clean—no more clumps of fur stuck in dusty bristles, or dirt trails left behind. I have a lot of throw rugs that the vacuum is too strong for, and this little baby cleans them like magic so my Norwex dry mop can then sweep up.

This mop makes cleaning my floors a breeze. The washable pads mean no waste (yay for sustainability!) and no more buying disposable refills. Just pop the pad into the wash and you’re good to go again. Less plastic, less mess, more sparkle. I have pads that have lasted me well into 10+ years with barely any signs of wear.

Dusting used to be my least favorite chore—until I found this dreamy duo. The lambswool gets into all the delicate nooks, and the microfiber head is perfect for grabbing dust from ceiling fans, baseboards, and even crown molding. The extendable wand? Chef’s kiss.

I’ve been slowly swapping out plastic for more natural, longer-lasting materials like glass jars, stainless steel bowls, and fabric wraps. They’re better for the planet and your food (plus they just look prettier on open shelves, don’t they?).

It might sound simple, but this humble basket catches everything from library books to outgoing mail and dog leashes. It’s my secret to less clutter and more calm every time I walk through the door.

9. My Favorite Mug (You know the one!)

The one that fits just right in your hands. The one you reach for every morning. Whether it's coffee, tea, or warm lemon water, this mug is part of my ritual—and those tiny rituals are what make home feel like home. If you are a pet lover like I am I'll insert a link at the bottom to grab a cute one.

10. Echo Show + Good Old Pen & Paper

Not everything has to be digital—but I’ll admit, having a little tech support can be incredibly helpful. I have three Echo Shows scattered around the house (and even gifted one to my dad). They keep me on track with daily to-dos, calendar reminders, shopping lists, and even order things from Amazon when I run out. I ask for the weather, the news, a joke, or a quick recipe walkthrough. When I’m out, I love being able to peek in on the house—and my sweet pup—through the camera feature. And yes, sometimes it doubles as my mini TV while I’m cooking dinner or winding down with Netflix or YouTube in bed.

That said—my heart still belongs to pen and paper. Nothing beats the feel of a good notebook, the scratch of a favorite pen, or the joy of flipping through pages of goals, thoughts, or little affirmations. I keep both in rotation: my Echo Show for convenience, and my planners and journals for intention and reflection. Each one serves its purpose, and together, they help me feel a little more grounded in both the chaos and the calm.

Why Less Is More

What I’ve learned is this: when you surround yourself with things that work with your life—not against it—you don’t need much else. A cozy home doesn’t require perfection. It just needs peace, function, and a little beauty and ease tucked into the everyday.

I hope this inspired you to create your own Cozy Home Capsule—filled with things that serve you, bring you joy, and lighten your daily load.

Want to start building yours? Begin with one small swap. Choose the item that feels the most you. And go from there.

Until next time, friend—

XO, Marie

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Every time I sit down to write a blog post, I picture someone—maybe it’s you—curled up with a blanket and a warm drink, scrolling with hope that something here will speak to your heart, your home, or even just your to-do list.

Honestly, it’s kind of humbling (and amazing!) to think that my little words might make a difference—whether it’s helping you figure out what to cook tonight, giving you a peaceful project for a rainy day, or offering a moment of encouragement when life feels a bit too loud.

I pour my heart into each post hoping it feels like a breath of fresh air. A cozy corner of the internet where you feel understood, uplifted, and maybe even inspired to create something new or just be.

Because really, we’re all just trying to find beauty, calm, and connection in this busy world—and I hope this space helps you do exactly that.

Let the posts
come to you.
