Creating Through the Quiet: Finding Joy Beyond the Canvas

Creating

Some days, art flows like sunlight—easy, warm, and full of life. Other days, it’s like trying to paint with rainwater. You sit there, brush in hand, staring at the blank page or screen, and wonder where that spark went. I’ve been there more times than I can count. But what I’ve learned is this: creative block isn’t the end of your art. Sometimes, it’s the space God gives you to breathe, listen, and refill your cup.

Art isn’t just about creating something beautiful—it’s about all the things that happen around it, too. It’s learning how to balance your time between sketching and shipping orders. It’s designing a webpage, photographing your work, answering messages, keeping track of sales, and learning how to share your story online. It’s the quiet hours spent editing, researching representation, and finding your place in a world overflowing with talent.

It can be exhausting at times, yes—but it’s also deeply fulfilling. Every step, from idea to completion, is part of the creative journey. I’ve come to realize that it’s not just about producing art; it’s about building a life around something that brings purpose and joy.

There’s a lot more to being an artist than simply painting or drawing. There’s heart, strategy, faith, and a whole lot of perseverance. But even when it’s hard—even when I’m juggling too many tabs open on my computer, or when my paintbrush, or many days a digital pen, feels heavy—I know I wouldn’t trade it. I would rather do this—creating, writing, sharing beauty and truth—than any other job I can imagine.

Because in these moments, when I’m truly lost in color or words, I feel closest to the One who gave me the gift in the first place. Every new piece, every blog post, every connection is another way of saying “thank You.”

So, to anyone working through a creative block: take heart. Rest if you need to. Step outside, breathe, pray, let inspiration find you again. The work will wait—but when you come back, it will be waiting with open arms.

Keep creating. Keep believing. The world needs what only you can bring.

XO, Marie

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Every time I sit down to write a blog post, I picture someone—maybe it’s you—curled up with a blanket and a warm drink, scrolling with hope that something here will speak to your heart, your home, or even just your to-do list.

Honestly, it’s kind of humbling (and amazing!) to think that my little words might make a difference—whether it’s helping you figure out what to cook tonight, giving you a peaceful project for a rainy day, or offering a moment of encouragement when life feels a bit too loud.

I pour my heart into each post hoping it feels like a breath of fresh air. A cozy corner of the internet where you feel understood, uplifted, and maybe even inspired to create something new or just be.

Because really, we’re all just trying to find beauty, calm, and connection in this busy world—and I hope this space helps you do exactly that.

Let the posts
come to you.
