You Don’t See the Wind, Yet You Believe It’s There

Wind

Have you ever watched the trees on a breezy day?

Leaves dancing. Branches bowing. Hair blowing across your face like it has somewhere important to be.

You don’t see the wind. But you sure see what it does.

No one stands outside and says,“Well, I can’t see it, so I refuse to believe in it.” That would be… windy nonsense. (Yes, that is now a theological term.)

And yet, when it comes to God, many people say:“If I can’t see Him, I won’t believe.”

But Scripture tells us something beautiful and quietly powerful:

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” — John 3:8

Jesus Himself used the wind to explain faith. Because faith often works just like that.

You don’t always see God with your physical eyes —but you see what He moves. You feel what He changes. You notice when something that should’ve broken you… didn’t.

You notice when peace shows up in places panic used to live. You notice when forgiveness grows where bitterness once built a house and refused to pay rent.

You didn’t see the wind, but you saw the branches move. You didn’t see God, but you saw the heart change.

And that counts for something.

We live in a world that wants receipts for everything. Show me the numbers. Show me the data. Show me the evidence.

But love doesn’t work that way either, does it?

You can’t put love under a microscope. You can’t measure hope with a ruler. You can’t weigh peace on a kitchen scale (and if you could, I’d be baking with it).

Yet we know these things are real because we experience them.

God is not proven only by what we can measure —He is known by how He meets us.

In grief. In quiet moments. In prayers whispered so softly we’re not even sure they counted.

But somehow… they did.

One of the most powerful ways people come to believe in God isn’t through arguments or debates.

It’s through people. People who should be bitter but are gentle. People who have every reason to quit but keep loving. People who once felt lost and now walk with purpose.

That is wind in the trees, my friend.

That is God moving in a way you can’t deny, even if you can’t diagram it on a chalkboard. And that’s often how belief begins —not with certainty, but with curiosity.

“Something is different here… and I want to know why.”

Faith Grows in Small Yeses - Not Wind

Believing in God doesn’t usually start with giant, dramatic moments and thunder from heaven.

It often starts with:

  • “Okay, God… if You’re real, help me today.”

  • “I don’t understand, but I’m willing to listen.”

  • “I’m tired of doing this alone.”

Small yeses. Quiet prayers. Hesitant hope.

And before you know it, the leaves start moving.

You feel nudged. You feel comforted. You feel strength that doesn’t quite feel like it came from you.

That’s not imagination. That’s invitation.

For Those Who Are Still Unsure

If you’re reading this and thinking,“I want to believe, but I’m not there yet,”can I gently say — you’re closer than you think.

God is not offended by honest questions. He is not scared of doubt. He is not waiting with crossed arms and a checklist.

He is near to the searching heart.

“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13

You don’t have to see the wind to feel it move your hair. You don’t have to understand everything about God to start walking with Him, and feel him in your thoughts.

Sometimes belief begins with simply saying,“God, if You’re there… I’m here too.”

And that is more than enough for Him to start moving.

If this encouraged you today, share it with someone who might need a little breeze of hope in their own branches. You never know whose leaves might start to move because of your kindness.

XO, Marie

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Every time I sit down to write a blog post, I picture someone—maybe it’s you—curled up with a blanket and a warm drink, scrolling with hope that something here will speak to your heart, your home, or even just your to-do list.

Honestly, it’s kind of humbling (and amazing!) to think that my little words might make a difference—whether it’s helping you figure out what to cook tonight, giving you a peaceful project for a rainy day, or offering a moment of encouragement when life feels a bit too loud.

I pour my heart into each post hoping it feels like a breath of fresh air. A cozy corner of the internet where you feel understood, uplifted, and maybe even inspired to create something new or just be.

Because really, we’re all just trying to find beauty, calm, and connection in this busy world—and I hope this space helps you do exactly that.

Let the posts
come to you.
